Anchorage Alaska CBS affiliate KTVA "Journalists" Plot Joe Miller Hit Piece TEXT AUDIO VIDEO
Accidental Voice Message Raises Questions
Anchorage, Alaska. October 30, 2010 – In an apparent accidental voice mail message left on the cell phone of Joe Miller’s spokesperson, Randy DeSoto, what is believed to be the news director for CBS Anchorage affiliate KTVA, along with assignment editor Nick McDermott, and other reporters, openly discuss creating, if not fabricating, two stories about Republican nominee for U.S. Senate, Joe Miller. The voice mail message was later authenticated by Mr. McDermott, who sent a text to DeSoto stating “Damn iPhone … I left you a long message. I thought I hung up. Sorry.”
“Frankly, when I first heard this I was shocked,” said DeSoto. “Though a bit garbled at times, there are disturbing comments in this conservation that never should have occurred.”
In the first discussion, the KTVA reporters discuss getting a list of Miller campaign supporters in order to ‘find’ a “child molester.” “You have to find that one person,” says the male reporter, to laughter in the news room. The reporters at KTVA then discuss creating a “Rand Paul” incident at the then upcoming Miller Rally (held on October 28, 2010) and hoping for violence so that they can “send out a tweet” and “Facebook” that “Miller got punched” at the rally.
transcript of the conversation from KTVA reporters in PDF format.

NRSC Statement On The Alaska Senate Race
NRSC Statement On The Alaska Senate Race Sunday, October 31, 2010 @ 11:10 AM
Regarding today’s inaccurate report from ABC News suggesting that Republican leaders are no longer supporting Joe Miller in Alaska NRSC Executive Director Rob Jesmer said:
“While I’m sure ABC News enjoyed leading Politico’s Playbook this morning, it might have been more useful if they had actually taken a moment to contact the NRSC before running this inaccurate story. Joe Miller not only has the full support of the NRSC, but he’s actually featured prominently in our TV ad which is running still today statewide in Alaska.”
In addition, NRSC Chairman John Cornyn was asked about this story on ABC’s This Week earlier today and said:
AMANPOUR: “Let me ask you about Joe Miller in Alaska - our Jon Karl, political correspondent, is saying the GOP is basically giving up on Joe Miller or thinking he's not going to win.”
SEN. CORNYN: “That's not the case - what we have done, we are supporting the nominee of our party which is Mr. Miller.”

NRSC Statement On CBS Voicemail Regarding Joe Miller
NRSC Statement On CBS Voicemail Regarding Joe Miller Sunday, October 31, 2010 @ 12:10 PM
Regarding the breaking story out of Alaska that the Anchorage CBS affiliate was caught on an inadvertent voicemail conspiring against Republican nominee Joe Miller NRSC Communications Director Brian Walsh said:
“If this voicemail is authentic, which is appears to be, it is deeply disturbing. It should trouble all Americans that any member of the media would attempt to purposefully smear a nominee for the U.S. Senate. CBS owes an immediate explanation to Joe Miller and his campaign.”

Ohio Republican Party David Pepper Ellen O'Shaughnessy Big Spenders VIDEO
VOTE for Dave Yost and Jon Husted on Tuesday, Nov. 2.
Text Transcript:
narrator: "Barack Obama can't spend enough of your money.
Neither can David Pepper. As unemployment doubled, Pepper lobbied for millions in higher taxes, and Pepper used our tax dollars to buy everything from expensive office furniture to a boat.
Then there is Mary Ellen O'Shaughnessy.
She's a career politician who has run for five different offices.
As Ohio lost jobs, O'Shaughnessy used our tax dollars to double her own pay.
Washington spending is bad enough.
Ohio can't afford Pepper and O'Shaughnessy."

Citizen's Against Government Waste's Porker of the Month Debbie Wasserman Schultz! VIDEO
CAGW Names Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz October Porker of the Month
(Washington, D.C.) - Citizens Against Government Waste (CAGW) today named Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-Fla.) October Porker of the Month for exaggerating the effect of the failed economic stimulus program, making dubious claims about jobs numbers, and misleading the American people about the true economic picture.
Rep. Wasserman Schultz made the following claim about job creation, “On the pace that we’re on with job creation in the last four months — if we continue on that pace — all the leading economists say it is likely that we will — we will have created more jobs in this year than in the entire Bush presidency.”
According to an October 12, 2010 article in National Review by Veronique de Rugy, a senior research fellow at the Mercatus Center, “During the Bush presidency, net totalemployment went up by 1.08 million jobs. So far, during the Obama presidency, total employment has been reduced by 3.3 million jobs.”
“Rep. Wasserman Schultz is one of the ‘say-anything’ crowd; she and her ilk never let the facts get in the way of a good story,” said CAGW President Tom Schatz. “Instead of spinning the facts to create a fairy tale of economic recovery, she ought to be working to cut wasteful government spending and decrease the tax and regulatory burdens on American businesses. Maybe the country then can experience a real recovery, not Rep. Wasserman Schultz’s fantasy recovery,” said Schatz.
For making false claims about job creation, and her mendacious attitude toward the facts of our economic crisis, CAGW names Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz its October 2010 Porker of the Month.
Citizens Against Government Waste is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization dedicated to eliminating waste, fraud, abuse, and mismanagement in government. Porker of the Month is a dubious honor given to lawmakers, government officials, and political candidates who have shown a blatant disregard for the interests of taxpayers. ###

Chris Christie not about to keep fiscally strapped New Jersey on the hook for overruns
Wall Street Journal, Governor Christie affirmed that New Jersey “…must finally recognize its limits”:
"I cannot place upon the citizens of the State of New Jersey an open-ended letter of credit," said Garden State Governor Chris Christie yesterday. Mr. Christie was affirming his decision to cancel a bloated project to build a new railroad tunnel under the Hudson River to New York City. He also affirmed that a government that already taxes its citizens more heavily than any other state in the country and has still racked up more than $100 billion in unfunded liabilities must finally recognize its limits. The proposed tunnel was a joint project of the state of New Jersey, the Federal Transit Administration, and the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, with each contributing roughly equal amounts. The catch was that Jersey would pay for any cost overruns…It's hard to blame Mr. Christie for sparing taxpayers from such a fate. (“Christie Gets Off the Train,” Wall Street Journal, 10/28/2010)
Star-Ledger Editorial Board, “Give him this…We are paying for yesterday’s sins”:
“We just can’t afford it,” he said yesterday. Give him this: The state’s gigantic pension and health obligations make this much harder. We are paying for yesterday’s sins. (“Christie to tunnel commuters: Drop dead,” Star-Ledger Editorial Board, 10/28/2010)
Innovation News, "We believe that Governor Chris Christie was right to have terminated the trans-Hudson tunnel project as currently conceived":
“We believe that Governor Chris Christie was right to have terminated the trans-Hudson tunnel project as currently conceived. In its current state, ARC is purely a local commuter rail connection to Manhattan with a terminus adjacent to Penn Station but not even tied into its Amtrak intercity lines. An investment on this scale should be considered in a larger context of the proposed Amtrak's NE Corridor high-speed line. As such, it is properly a project of regional or even national significance and should be funded primarily by the federal government and not by New Jersey taxpayers. As we have noted earlier, if there is one corridor in this country that justifies and deserves true high-speed rail service by virtue of its urban densities, passenger flows, economic activity and sheer size and importance, it's the Boston-to-Washington corridor. More than any other transportation initiative of recent years, the Amtrak concept plan evokes the tradition of what Felix Rohatyn has called America’s "bold endeavors" — a series of grand transportation enterprises that began with the Erie Canal and the transcontinental railroad in the 19th century and continued into the 20th century with the Panama Canal and the Interstate Highway System. The Northeast Corridor High-Speed Rail Line would be a truly worthy 21st century inheritor of that tradition. And the Trans-Hudson Tunnel could be a fitting beginning to this bold venture. We agree with the N.J. Alliance for Action that the $3 billion federal commitment to the ARC tunnel should be redirected to Amtrak for construction of the trans-Hudson tunnel as an integral part and essential first element of Amtrak's plans to develop high-speed rail service in the Northeast Corridor. We further believe, along with Rep John Mica (R-FL), that any future federal high-speed rail assistance should be focused primarily on making the Amtrak vision a reality rather than dissipated among many "high-speed" rail corridors of questionable merit.” ("Governor Christie's Trans-Hudson Tunnel Decision", Innovation News, 10/27/2010) # # #

Meg Whitman on Jerry Brown admitting he didn't have a plan when he ran for Governor of California and it was all a lie "Again" VIDEO
The Meg Whitman for Governor campaign released a new 30-second statewide television ad titled "Again" focusing on Jerry Brown's CNN interview where he admitted he didn't have a plan when he ran for Governor of California and it was all a lie.
Please see the following statement made by Meg Whitman at an event this morning in Salinas. Whitman's statement came in response to yesterday's news report that former Governor Gray Davis believes Governor Jerry Brown will go to voters with a tax increase if he is re-elected on Tuesday. Gray Davis is Brown's former top advisor and political confidante:
"I saw today that former Governor Gray Davis says that if Jerry Brown is elected, we will have a special election in the spring to ask voters for even higher taxes. Talk about March Madness! More taxes in a recession. And Gray Davis ought to know; he was Jerry Brown's right hand man for years. Voters, you are warned. Jerry Brown will bring more spending, more taxes and more lost jobs to California." -- Meg Whitman, Republican nominee for Governor
Brown's Former Top Advisor Indicated That Jerry Brown Would Present A Tax Increase To Voters Next Year:
"Former Gov. Gray Davis, No Stranger To Special Elections After Being Recalled In 2003, Speculated Wednesday That California Would Face A Special Ballot Issues Election Next Spring." Christine O'Donnell Responds to Gawker on Hannity VIDEO
O'Donnell Campaign Statement on the Universal Condemnation of the Gawker Story
by Christine O'Donnell for US Senate on Thursday, October 28, 2010 at 8:45pm
Wilmington, DE – Communications Director Doug Sachtleben stated in response to the universal condemnation of the Gawker story:
"This story is just another example of the sexism and slander that female candidates are forced to deal with. From Secretary Clinton, to Governor Palin, to soon-to-be Governor Haley, Christine's political opponents have been willing to engage in appalling and baseless attacks -- all with the aim of distracting the press from covering the real issues in this race. Even the National Organization for Women gets it, but Christine’s opponent disturbingly does not. As Chris Coons said on September 16th he would not condone personal attacks against Christine. Classless Coons goons have proven yet again to have no sense of common decency or common sense with their desperate attacks to get another rubber stamp for the Obama-Pelosi-Reid agenda. Such attacks are truly shameful, but they will not distract us from making our case to Delaware voters -- and keeping the focus on Chris Coons’ record of higher taxes, increased spending, and as he has done again here, breaking his promises to the voters."
The National Organization for Women (NOW) on Thursday condemned the tabloid website Gawker for publishing an anonymous account: NOW issued a statement late Thursday stating that “sexist, misogynist attacks against women have no place in the electoral process, regardless of a particular candidate’s political ideology.”
“NOW repudiates Gawker’s decision to run this piece. It operates as public sexual harassment. And like all sexual harassment, it targets not only O’Donnell, but all women contemplating stepping into the public sphere,” said NOW president Terry O’Neill.

David Zucker Barbara Boxer Call Me Senator VIDEO
Looks Like Everybody Is Noticing Zucker Video
Posted by Right Change — Mon, October 25 at 4:33PM
David Zucker has been busy today appearing on Laura Ingrahams's radio show and "Your World With Cavuto" on FOX News talking about "Call Me Senator", the new shortfilm by Zucker for RightChange. Thanks to our RightChange audience, the video now has over 500,000 views in just three days!
Earlier this morning on the Laura Ingraham show, Laura played the audio from "Call Me Senator" and said it was "Classic." She asked Zucker about admitting his campaign contribution to Boxer's campaign was the biggest mistake he's made. Zucker replied, "We've all done things we're ashamed of in our past."
Zucker also appeared on "Your World With Cavuto" where they played the entire shortfilm "Call Me Senator" where Cavuto said "That's funny, I don't care what side of party lines you're on." Cavuto and Zucker discussed the tight race between Boxer and Fiorina. Hopefully Californians will strip Boxer of her self entitlement in 9 days.

Congressman John Boehner Weekly Republican Address TEXT PODCAST VIDEO 10/30/10
Podcast of the address: Download MP3 for PODCAST FULL TEXT TRANSCRIPT BELOW. Video of the address available for download here. Saturday, October 30, 2010 || MP4 File || MPEG File || MOV File (FULL HD) ||
Washington (Oct 30) - With Americans demanding a new way forward in Washington, House Republican Leader John Boehner (R-OH) uses the Weekly Republican Address to outline solutions for ending economic uncertainty, stopping government’s spending binge, and changing the way Congress does business. In the address, Boehner notes that this is a new approach that hasn’t been tried in Washington – by either party – and it is at the core of the Pledge to America, a governing agenda Republicans built by listening to the people.
Leader Boehner recorded the weekly address earlier this week from Ohio, where he ran a small business and saw first-hand how Washington can make it harder for employers and entrepreneurs to meet a payroll and create jobs
Hello. I’m John Boehner.
“Before I served in Congress, I ran a small business here in Ohio, and I saw first-hand how politicians in Washington can make it harder for small employers to meet a payroll and create jobs.
“In the final days of the 2008 campaign, Barack Obama promised to ‘change this country and change the world.’
“Well I don’t know about the world, but here at home, Americans haven’t experienced the change President Obama promised. One in ten of our fellow citizens is out of work. Our national debt has grown by $3 trillion Trust in government has fallen to an all-time low.
“These problems didn’t start under President Obama. But instead of fixing them, his policies have made them worse. A ‘stimulus’ spending spree that created jobs in China and El Salvador, while millions of Americans lost their jobs here. A job-killing national energy tax. A government takeover of health care.
“All these things have combined to create massive uncertainty for small businesses, the engine of job creation in America, while our children face a future clouded by debt.
“Americans are demanding a new way forward in Washington – an approach that neither party has tried.
“It starts with cutting spending instead of increasing it; making government smaller and more accountable; and helping small businesses get back to creating jobs again.
“That’s what Republicans are offering with our Pledge to America, a governing agenda built by listening to the people.
“A generation of fiscal recklessness in Washington has pushed us to the brink. Just to stay afloat, we’re now borrowing 41 cents of every dollars we spend from our kids and grandkids.
“This spending spree threatens our children’s future. It’s also hurting our economy. Americans know it has to stop, and our Pledge to America puts forth a plan to do just that. We’re ready to cut spending to pre-‘stimulus,’ pre-bailout levels, saving taxpayers $100 billion almost immediately. And we’re ready to put in place strict budget caps that limit spending from here on out, to ensure that Washington is no longer on this spending binge.
“We need to stop the coming tax hike. We can’t balance the budget without cutting spending and achieving real economic growth – and we won’t have real economic growth if we raise taxes on small businesses and families.
“There’s a third thing we need to do to help our economy, and that’s change Congress itself. The American people are in charge of this country, and they deserve a Congress that acts like it. Americans should have three days to read all bills before Congress votes on them – something they didn’t get when the ‘stimulus’ was rushed into law. We should put an end to so-called ‘comprehensive’ bills that make it easy to hide wasteful spending projects and job-killing policies. Bills should be written by legislators in committee in plain public view – not written in the Speaker’s office, behind closed doors.
“Across our nation, Americans are looking at President Obama’s policies and asking – ‘where are the jobs?’ To help our economy get back on track, we have to stop all of the coming tax hikes and cut spending – and to cut spending, we need to change Congress itself.
“This is a new way forward that hasn’t been tried in Washington yet. It’s a break from the direction in which President Obama has taken our country. And frankly, it’s also a break from the direction in which Republicans were headed when Americans last entrusted us with the reins of government. The American people are in charge, and they deserve nothing less.
“Together, we can do these things. And in doing so, we can begin the drive for a smaller, less costly, and more accountable government that honors our Constitution and respects the will of the people.
“These ideas are at the core of our Pledge to America.
“We’ve tried it President Obama’s way. We’ve tried it Washington’s way. It hasn’t worked. It’s time to put the people back in charge.
“Thank you for your time and may God bless the United States of America."

Press Secretary Gibbs on Potential Suspicious Packages
Posted by Jesse Lee on October 29, 2010 at 01:32 PM EDT
A statement from White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs issued moments ago:
Last night, intelligence and law enforcement agencies discovered potential suspicious packages on two planes in transit to the United States. Based on close cooperation among U.S. government agencies and with our foreign allies and partners, authorities were able to identify and examine two suspicious packages, one in East Midlands, United Kingdom and one in Dubai. Both of these packages originated from Yemen. As a result of security precautions triggered by this threat, the additional measures were taken regarding the flights at Newark Liberty and Philadelphia International Airports.
The President was notified of a potential terrorist threat on Thursday night at 10:35, by John Brennan, Assistant to the President for Homeland Security and Counter-terrorism. The President directed U.S. intelligence and law enforcement agencies, and the Department of Homeland Security, to take steps to ensure the safety and security of the American people, and to determine whether these threats are a part of any additional terrorist plotting. The President has received regular updates from his national security team since he was alerted to the threat.

David Schweikert, Harry Mitchell Lie Buster
Three bills had no Republican co-sponsor or no co-sponsor at all: HR 5474, 2/19/2008; HR 5651, 3/14/2008; and HR 4977, 3/25/2010.
In their endorsement of David Schweikert two weeks ago, the Arizona Republic said, “it’s time for a change.” Mitchell voted ‘yes’ for bailouts, ObamaCare, and the failed stimulus. He even sponsored card check. “That puts him at odds with the district.”
“Arizona’s Fifth Congressional District deserves a U.S. Representative that represents us with independence and balance. They also deserve someone who will tirelessly work on their behalf and will never mislead them,” said Schweikert campaign manager Oliver Schwab. “David Schweikert is someone who both understands the mechanics of how to get things done and also has the courage and conviction to take on difficult challenges.”

Club for Growth Congressman Joe Sestak’s agenda of more taxes, more spending, and more debt are the problem in Washington VIDEO
WASHINGTON – Club for Growth Action announced a $1 million television advertising buy in the Pennsylvania Senate race. The 30-second spot, “Navy,” highlights the liberal voting record of Democrat Congressman Joe Sestak.
“Congressman Joe Sestak’s agenda of more taxes, more spending, and more debt are the problem in Washington, not the solution,” said Club President Chris Chocola. “Pat Toomey is committed to real change in Washington. Sestak had his chance to change Washington, but he chose instead to throw our economy into debt and decline. Pat Toomey knows that if we want more jobs, we need less government.”
The ad, will run on broadcast television in the Philadelphia media market through election day.

Charles K. Djou endorsed by local small businesses VIDEO
Honolulu, HI - Congressman Charles K. Djou was joined by local small business owners today to discuss the importance of changing the direction of the current Congress.
Congressman Djou issued the following statement:
"I visit a local business nearly every day and hear a common refrain: businesses, especially small businesses, need certainty that the new year will not bring with it more taxes and regulations that will stifle local job creation.
"I am honored to have been endorsed by organizations such as the National Federation of Independent Businesses and Trust in Small Business. But far more important is the support I have received from local small businesses - because they know I will fight for fiscal responsibility and tax relief that will stimulate economic growth and create jobs."
Congressman Djou was joined by local small business owners today who have endorsed his campaign, including Jack Schneider of JS Services, Debi Halcro of Valenti Print Group, Ted English of The UPS Store, Don Dawson of the Dawson Group, Eliza Talbot of NFIB Hawaii, Harvey King of King and Neel and Marsha Anderson of Surf Prep. These entrepreneurs described their concerns of runaway federal spending and uncertainty surrounding the tax code and regulatory structure.

Anna Little Why Is Frank Pallone's Web Site Silent On Obama (Pallone) Care?
"Sadly, this is not surprising," said Little. "All we've heard from Frank Pallone is distortions of my views, rather than an explanation for the votes he cast for a failed trillion-dollar stimulus package, a failed cap and trade policy that would raise everyone's electricity bills, and the government takeover of health care.
"Of course, it's perfectly understandable - if I had cast a vote to cut Medicare by $500 billion, reduce patient choice, put government bureaucrats between doctors and their patients, and raise taxes, I probably wouldn't want to draw attention to it, either.
"But that's the big difference between Frank Pallone and me - I would never have cast that vote in the first place!
"In five days, New Jersey will vote, and we'll have a chance to send a fresh face to Washington," said Little.
"If you think we're headed in the right direction, then Frank Pallone is your man," said Little. "But if you think we're moving in the wrong direction, if you think you're ready for a change, then I need your vote - because you cannot change Washington without changing the people we send to Washington!"

Mara Liasson: Even if it leads to government default and shutdown?
Mike Lee: It's an inconvenience, it would be frustrating to many, many people and it's not a great thing, and yet at the same time, it's not something that we can rule out, It may be absolutely necessary.

NRSC Launches New Colorado TV Ad, “Challenges” Monday, October 25, 2010 @ 01:10 PM
The National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) announced a new independent expenditure television advertisement in Colorado today, entitled “Challenges,” highlighting Governor Ritter’s appointed U.S. Senator Michael Bennet’s (D-CO) record of rubberstamping President Obama’s reckless spending agenda in Washington.
NRSC Press Secretary Amber Marchand issued the following statement today:
“While our nation suffers from an economic crisis and burdensome unemployment, Coloradans can’t afford appointed Senator Michael Bennet, who has helped his party ram through reckless spending, out-of-control debt, and job-killing tax hikes in Washington. Voters in Colorado deserve a U.S. Senator who will fight for their best interests – not another rubberstamp for President Obama’s costly partisan agenda, which has failed to create jobs while driving our national debt past $13.6 trillion.”

Sharron Angle ad that ignited Joy Behar on "The View" The Wave VIDEO
New Angle Ad: The Wave: Sharron Angle ad that ignited Joy Behar on "The View" The Wave VIDEO
Today, the Sharron Angle campaign released a new television ad entitled, “The Wave.” The new ad details Harry Reid’s support for providing illegal immigrants with Social Security benefits, tax breaks and college tuition while fighting to stop Arizona’s illegal immigration law and voting against making English our national language. Reid’s failed policies illustrate his failed leadership resulting in the highest unemployment rate in the nation.
“Harry Reid’s history of supporting benefits for illegal immigrants shows how out-of-touch he is with the people of Nevada,” said Jerry Stacy, Press Secretary for Sharron Angle. “With incentivizing illegal behavior while millions of Nevadans suffer under this economic crisis, Nevadans can no longer afford another failed Reid term.”

Senators Amy Koch & Michelle Fischbach Call on Mark Dayton to Denounce DFL Party`s Anti-Catholic Mailings
St. Paul- Senators Amy Koch and Senator Michelle Fischbach today called on Democrat gubernatorial candidate Mark Dayton to denounce a series of deeply offensive (/mail_piece_2.pdf) and inflammatory (/stainedglassmailing.pdf) anti-Catholic mailings sent by the Minnesota DFL Party.
“These deeply offensive anti-Catholic mailings from the DFL Party have absolutely no place in our state. As the standard bear of his party and DFL nominee for governor, Mark Dayton must denounce these unconscionable smears and tell his Party that they have gone too far. For Dayton’s Party to suggest that the Catholic Church has been ignoring the poor is the most irresponsible and deplorable attack I have ever seen during my time in public service,” said Senator Amy Koch (R-Buffalo).
“Mark Dayton’s family members have donated $900,000 to the DFL Party during this campaign to fund political attacks, making them among the largest single funding sources in this election cycle. As the leader of his party in this election and in light of his family’s major role in financing the DFL party, Mark Dayton has a special moral obligation to speak out on this matter. These hurtful mailings from the DFL Party are absolutely outrageous and Mark Dayton should be ashamed of his Party. Attacking religious groups is never acceptable in any way, shape, or form. Mark Dayton must make certain that his Party immediately ceases these attacks against Minnesotans of faith and he must apologize on behalf of his Party. Dayton’s continued silence on this matter is completely unacceptable,” said Senator Michelle Fischbach (R- Paynesville).
Dayton Donations To DFL Party: $900,000
Eric and Andrew Dayton: $250,000 each
Alida Rockefeller Messinger: $280,000
Mary Lee Dayton: $100,000
David Dayton: $20,000

Grim Diagnosis – A check-up on the federal health law John Barrasso
![]() | Drs. Coburn and Barrasso Release New Health Care Report Consequences of “Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act” Worse than Anticipated. U.S. Senators and doctors Tom Coburn (R-OK) and John Barrasso (R-WY) today released a new report “Grim Diagnosis – A check-up on the federal health law.” PDF. |
“Unfortunately, the overhaul that passed Congress this spring did not represent the real health reform Americans want and need. The new law focused on some of the symptoms in our health care system, but failed to address the underlying disease. For a majority of Americans, the cost of health coverage is their primary concern. For too many, cost is the access problem. Unfortunately, the new law increases costs to patients, consumers, and taxpayers, while exacerbating many existing problems in health care,” Coburn and Barrasso write in the report.
“This report presents the American people with a second opinion on the economic and financial impacts of the new health care law. Americans have a right to know how their health care, jobs, and financial stability will be impacted by the new law. The health overhaul threatens our nation’s economic recovery, increases costs, and reduces job growth.”
“As practicing physicians, we are committed to real health care reform. Costs are too high. Choices are too few. Health coverage remains out of reach for too many Americans. Interference from government bureaucrats and insurance companies is too constant and pervasive. We believe real reform begins with replacing the new law with sensible provisions that will lower costs, increase patient control, reduce bureaucracy and government interference, and put affordable, high quality health coverage within the reach of every American.”
The report includes the following key findings:
• Eight in ten small businesses could lose their current health plans according to regulations published by the Administration.
• The law will kill 800,000 jobs, perhaps even many more.
• States face huge mandates ranging in the hundreds of billions of dollars – costs much greater than the supposed deficit reduction.
• Real income will be depressed for millions of Americans because of the law.
• Uncompensated care costs from care in ER could become much worse.
• Taxpayers could be faced to bailout a new program created in the health overhaul that even supporters call a "Ponzi scheme."
• New penalties and costs discourage the hiring of young Americans who already face the worst job market in a generation.
• The law could cause the deficit to balloon by more than half a trillion dollars over the coming decade.
• Even with the new law, the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) estimates that “rapidly rising health care costs will sharply increase federal spending for health care programs.”
• The Medicare Trustees’ have said the nearly $530 billion in cuts to the Medicare program proposed by the new law “will not be viable.” In other words, the law’s supposed savings are based on phony accounting. ###

Rand Paul Jack Conway Kentucky Senate Debate 10/25/10 VIDEO
![]() | Rand Paul Jack Conway Kentucky Senate Debate 10/25/10 VIDEO FULL STREAMING VIDEO. BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- At a news conference today in Lexington, Dr. Rand Paul announced that he would attend the final scheduled debate between he and his opponent Jack Conway, despite the shameful political attack ad released by Conway earlier in the week attacking Paul’s religious beliefs. |
I continue to be astounded that Jack Conway thinks it is appropriate to attack my pro-life Christian faith and by inference my family. To date, he has refused to apologize for his abhorrent behavior and that is a shame.
For the past week, Republicans and Democrats across the nation have condemned my opponent’s ad as “despicable,” “odious,” and “dangerous.”
Throughout the last year and a half, dozens of people have brought personally damaging information to us about my opponent and his family. My instructions to my staff, “We won’t go there.”
Do I want a pat on the back for this? No. But would I like to raise the debate to a higher plane? Yes.
For that reason, while I do not respect Mr. Conway’s inappropriate attacks, I do respect the voters of this state and therefore will participate in Monday’s final debate.
Kentuckians deserve another opportunity to understand the very real differences between Jack and myself.
With ten days to go, I wish the campaign were about who has the best vision for Kentucky and America. We face a serious debt crisis in this country and I want to be part of finding the solution. I don’t think the debate is advanced by personal invective and slander.
As the campaign comes to a close, I will continue to talk about the main issues of the day: an unsustainable debt, the federal takeover of healthcare, the President’s desire to raise taxes in a recession, and the President’s policies that are destroying coal related jobs.
I ask my opponent to do likewise, to aspire to statesmanship, to seek a higher plane for the betterment of our citizenry and cast aside the politics of personal destruction that diminish us all.

Ken Buck Michael Bennet Colorado Senate Debate 10/23/10
![]() | Ken Buck Michael Bennet Colorado Senate Debate 10/23/10 FULL STREAMING VIDEO Momentum on Buck’s Side with Only 10 Days until Election Day Bucks Highlights Jobs, Spending in Last U.S. Senate Debate |
Buck provided a convincing closing argument, focused on his plans to create jobs and reign in Washington’s spending.
The debate comes only a day after the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment announced that Colorado lost jobs for the eleventh consecutive month, bringing Colorado’s unemployment to 8.2 percent.
“For months now, Michael Bennet has tried to run away from his record as a rubberstamp for Obama’s big spending,” said Ken Buck after the debate. “The hundreds-of-thousands of Coloradans who are unemployed aren’t buying it. They know that Bennet’s votes have hurt our economy, small businesses and cost Americans jobs.”
The biggest surprise of the evening happened when Bennet argued that government “there is some certainty out there” for small businesses, highlighting Obamacare as a key that gives us certainty.
“Michael Bennet has spent too much time with the lobbyists and special interests in Washington,” added Buck. “If Bennet would have listened to the vast majority of Coloradans, he would have opposed this bill, and the corruption that pushed it through Washington.”
During the Reality Check segment of the debate, Bennet implied that reporter Shaun Boyd of not telling the truth when it came to his misleading attack ads. Boyd pointed out that Bennet’s ads accusing Buck of wanting to privatize Social Security and abolish student loans were false. ###

U.S. Chamber of Commerce Barbara Boxer Bad with Money VIDEO
WASHINGTON, D.C.—The U.S. Chamber of Commerce today launched the television ad “Bad with Money” in Los Angeles to highlight Senator Barbara Boxer’s 28-year record of reckless spending and anti-business policies.
The ad reminds Californians that Boxer has helped bankrupt the American treasury and throw Californians out of work by raising taxes, adding trillions to the national debt, and voting to cut back water to California farms and communities.
“Barbara Boxer has been recklessly mortgaging America’s future by adding trillions to the deficit and our tax burden,” said Bill Miller, national political director for the Chamber. “After nearly three decades as a Washington politician, there appears to be no limit to Boxer's eagerness to tax and spend.”
The ad is part of a Chamber television blitz that also includes ads in Sacramento, Fresno, and Bakersfield highlighting Boxer’s lack of leadership on critical water issues facing California.
“As if her fiscal irresponsibility were not enough, Boxer also voted to cut back water to the Central Valley, shutting down farms and small businesses and helping to drive some Valley unemployment rates as high as 40 percent,” Miller said.

Tim Scott 60 Plus Association Endorsement from Pat Boone VIDEO
Tim Scott is a small business owner and public servant who is the Republican nominee for Congress in South Carolina’s First District.
Tim was born in North Charleston, and grew up in poverty with a single mother who worked 16 hour days to keep him and his brother in school. Both his mother and his mentor instilled in him conservative, traditional, and religious values which guide him to this day. Tim is a 1988 graduate of Charleston Southern University, earning a B.S. in Political Science.

Analysis of LA Times Meg Whitman Jerry Brown Poll
Additionally, The Times poll was in the field from 10/13-18; before a discernable Whitman uptick in other polls. In other words, it's old, statistically flawed, and in no way a current snapshot of the race.
"Statistically, given the clear average of multiple public and private polls fielded in a similar time frame, The LA Times poll should be categorized as an outlier poll and can be dismissed as simply inaccurate," said Whitman pollster John McLaughlin. Dr. David Hill, also a Whitman campaign pollster, agreed with that assessment.
We are certain this race is extremely close, and we are confident of our position to close this campaign with a historic result a week from Tuesday that will give California its first woman governor.

RUDY GIULIANI ENDORSES RANDY ALTSCHULER FOR CONGRESS
Giuliani: "Altschuler is Uniquely Qualified to Represent Suffolk County"
Randy Altschuler, the independent, self-made businessman and Republican/Conservative candidate for Congress (NY-1), was endorsed today by former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani. Giuliani, who became known as "America's Mayor" after leading the city through the terrorist attacks of 9/11, called Altschuler "a fiscal conservative who knows what it will take to jump start the economy and create jobs for the people of Suffolk County and the nation."
Rudy Giuliani said, "Randy Altschuler is the perfect example of the type of individual we need serving in Congress. He's a successful self-made businessman, not a career politician. He has built two companies from the ground up and created over 700 jobs for hardworking Americans, 250 of them right here in New York. Randy Altschuler is a fiscal conservative who knows what it will take to jump start the economy and create jobs for Suffolk County and the nation. In Congress, he will vote to cut taxes, rein in runaway spending, and shrink an ever growing deficit that is mortgaging the future of generations to come.
Randy Altschuler said, "As Mayor, Rudy Giuliani restored fiscal sanity to New York City; cutting wasteful spending and making sure that city government operated like a business. That's the exact same job I plan to do in Congress. I will work to create common sense solutions for complex problems and in the process cut taxes, spending and work to shrink an ever ballooning deficit. I would like to thank Mayor Giuliani for his endorsement and his kind words and let him know, that like him, I will always be a fighter for my constituents in Suffolk County and the people of New York State." # # #

Whole Lotta Obama Kool-Aid by Doug Giles, thanks Doug great stuff, we're big zep fans too.
In 2008 Obama promised us the moon if elected President. Instead ... gullible Americans got mooned. Disillusioned voters are now turning away in droves from BHO and his ilk. The only way Barack and his boys can now win voters back is through more lies, hype, and spin. Which means ... more Obama Kool-Aid.

Pat Toomey Joe Sestak Pennsylvania Senate 2d Debate 10/22/10 VIDEO
| Pat Toomey Joe Sestak Pennsylvania Senate 2d Debate 10/22/10 FULL STREAMING VIDEO Allentown, PA – U.S. Senate candidate and former small business owner, Pat Toomey, emerged as the clear choice for Pennsylvania voters after the second and final debate tonight with Congressman Joe Sestak. The debate was held in the studios of WPXI-TV in Pittsburgh, PA.. |
In contrast, Congressman Joe Sestak continued to spout the same tired falsehoods and distortions about Pat Toomey in an attempt to run away from his record of massive deficit spending. Ultimately, Congressman Sestak thinks that the way to create jobs is to raise taxes and vote 100% in lock-step with Nancy Pelosi and the far-left extreme of the Democratic Party. It's that same failed ideology that has led to record deficits, record debt, and taxpayer-funded bailouts.
“Pat Toomey wins tonight’s debate hands down,” said Toomey Campaign Manager Mark Harris. “Joe Sestak wants Pennsylvania voters to ignore his record, but tonight, voters saw just how extreme Congressman Sestak is. Over the past four years in Washington, Sestak voted for bailout after bailout, a failed 'stimulus', a cap-and-trade energy tax, government-run health care, and record debt – and his only criticism is that these massive bills did not go far enough!”

“Federal Pay Gap” Exposing Vast Gap In Salary And Benefits VIDEO
The organization RightChange, Inc., reveals to the American voter the huge gap of salaries and benefits between the average government and private sector employees with the release of their brand new video “Federal Pay Gap.”
Washington, D.C. – The organization RightChange, Inc., reveals to the American voter the huge gap of salaries and benefits between the average government and private sector employees with the release of their brand new video “Federal Pay Gap.” ”Federal Pay Gap” can be viewed at http://www.rightchange.com/. “
RightChange’s “Federal Pay Gap” is a motion-graphic style video that uses a familiar “Minute to Win It” meets a heart attack game show approach, challenging the viewer to watch nine levels of outrage including how easy it is to stay on the government payroll and how much the Obama Administration and congress have grown the government, all leading up to the kicker: the amount government workers owe in back taxes. “Federal Pay Gap” is a different twist from other videos RightChange has produced in the past like the successful “Attack of the 50ft Pelosi” ad produced for the PA-12 special election and now released for a barrage of congressional and senate races.
The video is timely given the recent news to the American public that the recession was over last year in July, yet unemployment is at over 9.6% for the private sector while government sectors are barely 2.9% as the video points out. RightChange.com provides a great resource for voter registration, along with cutting edge video content on the topics of the day with edgy humor and using politicians’ own words. Senator John Thune Weekly Republican Address TEXT VIDEO 10/23/10
Hello, I’m Senator John Thune of South Dakota. As you’ve probably noticed, we have an election coming up in a little over a week.
President Obama has been running around the country trying to reelect Democrat members of Congress.
One of the Democrats' main responsibilities over the past two years was to improve the economy. Instead, they decided to try an experiment to grow government, raise taxes, and take over health care. After two years, the American people are left asking, ‘Why have the Democrats’ priorities been so different from ours?’
The Obama Experiment has failed.
When the president and his Democrat allies in Congress pushed through their $814 billion stimulus bill, they promised it would create millions of jobs, and keep unemployment under eight percent. But their approach didn’t work, and they failed to deliver on their promises.
Unemployment has climbed to nearly 10 percent. Rather than create jobs, the Democrats expanded government, and now the American people are stuck with another bill for nearly a trillion dollars.
When the president was introducing his big government health care plan, he promised to reduce every family’s health insurance premiums by as much as $2,500. But premiums keep going up. Families in some states are seeing increases in the double digits. Here again, Democrats promised but didn’t deliver, and the American people are stuck with rising health care costs and another tab; this one for two-and-a-half trillion dollars.
The Democrats have controlled the White House and both chambers of Congress for nearly two years, and have proven that more government is not the answer. This year they were not even capable of passing a budget. Instead, they spent their time passing more and more burdensome regulations, like their so-called Financial Reform bill that failed to address the main cause of our economic mess.
Despite a dangerously high national debt that is closing in on $14 trillion, the president wants to spend even more money on these kinds of failed policies. And he appears intent on raising taxes to do it.
Giving Democrats more opportunities to manage the economy and spend taxpayer dollars will not give us the economic growth that we need. It will only lead to more growth of government bureaucracy, and to national bankruptcy.
There is a reason unemployment is stuck near ten percent.
There is a reason jobs are not being created.
There is a reason too many Americans who want a job can’t find one.
There is a reason the dollar is weak and our economy is not growing as it should.
The reason is that President Obama and Congressional Democrats have led this country in the wrong direction.
Government cannot be openly hostile to American businesses, and expect them to grow and create jobs.
Government cannot raise taxes during tough economic times, and expect small businesses to grow and create jobs.
A new direction is needed.
The president likes to say that when you want to drive forward you put your car in D, and when you want to go in reverse you put it in R. It’s a clever line, but when you’re speeding toward a cliff, you don’t want to keep the car in drive.
Republicans want to reverse the dangerous course the Democrats have us on.
Republicans want to reverse Democrats’ plan to raise taxes on the 750,000 small businesses in this country that employ 25 percent of all workers. So employers have more money to create new jobs.
Republicans support policies that will grow the economy, not the government.
Republicans want to repeal the flawed health care law that has been rejected by the American public, and replace it with a new plan that actually reduces costs. We want to reverse the uncertainty in the marketplace so that small businesses have the confidence to grow and invest and create jobs.
And Republicans want to reverse this nonsense of government bailouts and takeovers of private businesses.
Republicans have proposed real, concrete solutions to the challenges we face as a country.
We have learned the lessons not only of what hasn’t worked over the past two years, but what didn’t work the last time Republicans controlled Congress. Republicans are listening to the frustration being expressed by Americans all across this country, and we are determined to take this country in the right direction.
The choice could not be more clear. Democrats are driving more of the same failed policies they have pushed for the past two years. Republicans are proposing to take this country in a different direction.
So I would like to suggest a simple question people should ask themselves to help cut through all the talk: Are you better off today than you were two years ago? I’m Senator John Thune. Thank you for listening. ####
