Carl Paladino October 7 VIDEO Channel 12/Newsday debate on October 18th

BUFFALO, NY) - Paladino campaign manager Michael Caputo said at 6:15pm today that Republican candidate for Governor Carl Paladino would change his schedule to accept the Channel 12/Newsday debate on October 18th.

"Carl is delighted that Andrew Cuomo has accepted his challenge to debate after 23 days of dodging the question," Caputo said. "Carl Paladino has accepted seven debates, so now we wait for Cuomo to accept the other six invitations."

"Carl is also pleased that all the minor party candidates will be included and said from the beginning that excluding the African America and woman candidates was unfair," Caputo said. "Andrew Cuomo is the champion debater of all time and Carl understands he has his work cut out for him."

"The Paladino campaign was working via telephone with Newsday to nail down a date for a debate between all candidates for Governor. The debate hosts changed the date four times, and we accepted for October 14th," Caputo said. "Then they told us with less than 24 hours notice that they had changed the date to October 18th - a day when we had a longstanding scheduling conflict."

"Andrew Cuomo is playing games with the voters. His fear of addressing the issues has been clear for weeks, and he accepted the Newsday debate only when he heard Carl had a scheduling conflict," Caputo said. "Well, that's no problem. We've changed our plans to accommodate Cuomo's busy schedule hiding from the voters."

"It's on, Andrew, and you better be ready to answer your record," Caputo said. "Why did you take a multimillion dollar bribe from Andrew Farkas, a man you refused to prosecute at HUD? Are you sorry for lighting the fuse on the sub-prime mortgage meltdown that vaporized New Yorkers' 401k's? And why are you committed to raising taxes and spending while taxpayers suffer?"
