Republican House Leaders Elected FULL STREAMING VIDEO - WASHINGTON, D.C. – House Majority Leader John Boehner (R-OH) highlighted the new leadership team elected by House Republicans today. Boehner was chosen by his colleagues for the post of Republican Leader of the U.S. House of Representatives. He issued the following statement:
“I’d like to congratulate Mike Pence on waging a campaign based on ideas and solutions to return Republicans to the principles of limited government, fiscal discipline, and reform. Mike cares deeply about our party and its future and will continue to be a key leader in our efforts to return to our core principles and regain our majority.
“We’re going to be working very closely with all our members over the next two years. To earn our majority back, House Republicans must rededicate ourselves to the spirit of reform and we must regain our confidence and courage to tackle the big issues the American people care about – cutting wasteful spending, reforming government programs that aren’t sustainable for our children and our grandchildren, providing tax relief to American families, and strengthening national and border security.
“The American people strongly support these ideas and principles. United together, I’m confident that our party will tackle the challenges before us and regain our majority in 2008.”
