Vaughn Ward, wife Kirsten daughter, Avé, 4, and son, William, 1. | “Today, President Obama announced that more than 70 terrorists from Guantanamo Bay will be transferred and housed indefinitely in Thompson, Illinois. Walter Minnick and President Obama have yet to explain how moving these terrorists to America will make our country safer. Walter Minnick and his boss Nancy Pelosi have just given dangerous terrorists who seek to harm Americans first class tickets to the United States,” Vaughn Ward said. |
Ward continued, “These dangerous terrorists should not be housed on U.S. soil and granted the same rights as American citizens. Walter Minnick and his Democrat friends believe that bringing terrorists into the U.S. is a way to honor our Constitution. However, bringing these terrorists to our country and granting them Constitutional protections does nothing more than weaken our judicial system and undermine our Constitution.”
“I have spent my life fighting to keep dangerous terrorist out of our country. I am disappointed that Walter Minnick, who cast the decisive vote to close Guantanamo Bay (House Roll Call 361), has paved the way for these terrorists to easily enter the U.S. With this vote, Walter Minnick and Nancy Pelosi put American lives at risk. Minnick showed complete disregard for Idaho families by voting against this critical national security measure. If Minnick is interested in keeping our country and state safe, he needs to start standing up to Nancy Pelosi and siding with the families of Idaho.” concluded Ward.
