Leader Boehner Pledges Support to Secure Armed Services Seat for Vicky Hartzler

Vicky HartzlerWashington – House Republican Leader John Boehner pledged his support today to secure an assignment on the important House Armed Services Committee for Vicky Hartzler, GOP nominee for Missouri’s Fourth Congressional District.

“Vicky Hartzler has my full support for a seat on the House Armed Services Committee,” said House Republican Leader John Boehner.
“America’s warriors and their families need a leader like Vicky Hartzler who listens, understands the challenges they face, and is eager to address them. Vicky also knows that the policies coming out of Washington lately – ‘stimulus’ spending sprees, costly mandates, and government takeovers – have failed our armed services. That’s why I look forward to working with Vicky, the Republican leadership, and the Members of the Steering Committee to place her on the committee at the earliest possible opportunity.”

Missouri’s Fourth Congressional District includes two big military bases: Fort Leonard Wood in Pulaski County and Whiteman Air Force Base, where the 21 original B-2 bombers flew to drop precision-targeted bombs in Afghanistan. Hartzler is dedicated to the preservation of our vital military bases and ensuring that they have the best equipment, latest technology, and proactive leadership that recognizes and funds all possible avenues of threat mitigation, including a strong missile defense. Military veterans make up 14.2 percent of the population of Missouri’s Fourth Congressional District and Hartzler is committed to keeping the support for both the active and retired military a priority. With a seat on the Armed Services Committee, Vicky Hartzler will have the ability to help protect our armed services and oversee any legislation affecting the funding and oversight of our national defense.
