The Ten Original Amendments: The Bill of Rights.

Passed by Congress September 25, 1789. Ratified December 15, 1791.

 

AMENDMENT I

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."

 

The anti-war groups United for Peace and Justice  and Project Billboard challenge our words and deeds. we owe them a debt for the opportunity to re-affirm our dedication to the highest ideals. we must at this time more than most listen to the angels of our better nature.
