as in nypd's patrolman contract demonstration at madison square garden two weeks earlier, the art of this demonstration is dwarfed by it's canvas. a spirited, well prepared, engaging group of about 200 gathered in a space usually filled by mtv's trl crew. street theater like tactics reminiscent of the late 60,s added energy to an already upbeat square.

police security although heavy in number is light in mood and manner and i see only cooperation and good humor between the demonstrators, police and teeming masses. a good time is had by all on this countdown to the rnc, elevated security day.
