Source: A Washington Post tracking poll representing the three-night average of data collected by telephone Oct 11 - 13, 2004 among a randomly selected national sample of 1,803 adults, including 1,577 self-identified registered voters and 1,202 likely voters. The margin of sampling error for results based on these three groups is plus or minus 3 percentage points, and slightly larger for subsamples. Interviewing was conducted by TNS of Horsham, Pa.
