Question: The Venezuelan government reportedly claims that it sent the United States a request for the provisional arrest of Cuban exile Luis Posada Carriles? Can you confirm that claim?

Answer: It is not our usual practice to comment on extradition matters. However, since the Venezuelan government made its announcement, in this case, we can confirm the receipt of a request, which we will process in accordance with the normal procedures applicable to such requests.
