The United States congratulates the people of Burundi for the peaceful, orderly and dignified exercise of their democratic right to vote in the July 4 legislative elections.

We congratulate the Government of Burundi and the Independent National Electoral Commission for technically sound elections carried out in an atmosphere of peace and security

We commend and appreciate the United Nations and other donors for their ongoing support of the electoral process.
