Scheduling an Appointment at a Passport Agency

If you are traveling within the next 2 weeks/14days or you need a foreign visa within the next 4 weeks, you may schedule an appointment at any of our 13 Regional Passport Agencies. To do so, U.S. citizens or nationals must call the National Passport Information Center and access the automated appointment system. The appointment system is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, so you may call any time - day or night. However, because we are at the height of the busiest travel season, the best times to call are late evenings, and on weekends.

Automated telephone passport information is also available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The National Passport Information Center’s toll-free number is 1-877-487-2778 (TDD/TDY: 1-888-874-7793). Customers may also visit the Department of State’s Bureau of Consular Affairs website at travel.state.gov for how to apply for a U.S. passport, to download or print application forms or to locate the nearest passport application acceptance facility by zip code for those traveling internationally in more than two weeks.
