Today I approved the second report of the Commission for Assistance to a Free Cuba. I also approved a Compact with the People of Cuba, which outlines how the United States will support the Cuban people as they transition from the repressive control of the Castro regime to freedom and a genuine democracy.

The report demonstrates that we are actively working for change in Cuba, not simply waiting for change. I call on all our democratic friends and allies around the world to join us in supporting freedom for the Cuban people. I applaud the work of the Commission, co-chaired by Secretary Rice and Secretary Gutierrez.

In the usual arrogant way, Bush, the incompetent aspiring Emperor of the World, has made a repeat of the threats against the sovereign people of Cuba, aimed to keep the support he receives from the extremist right wing Cuban Americans in his goverment
Can you guys imagine what would happen if any government confess paying not 80 million dollars but 80 cents to overthrow the Bushites?) And then he says that the opposition he speaks about is not a bunch of mercenaries paid with American Dollars, something the Cuban Government always sustained) But now I'll let you reach your own conclusions

just curious---and please don't take offense, i am sincerely wondering---if cuba is such a wonderful place, why otrocubanolibre, do you opt to reside in the united states?

in response to your theory about the possibility of an assasination attempt on castro: the us has no motive. imho, if an attempt were to be made, the prime suspect would more likely be the head of the Cuban legislature, Ricardo Alarcón or some other citizen in a communist/dictatorial nation.
