Convention Veteran Tapped to Lead Official Proceedings Kahler's 'veteran leadership' will be asset, says convention CEO

(SAINT PAUL, Minn.) - Adding 20 years of experience to a key position, 2008 Republican National Convention President and CEO Maria Cino today announced the appointment of Rachel Card Kahler as the Director of Official Proceedings.

This is Kahler's fifth GOP convention, having served in various operations roles in the Houston (1992), San Diego (1996), and Philadelphia (2000) conventions; and as Deputy Director of Operations at the New York convention in 2004.

"Rachel's veteran leadership will be an asset to our convention planning, as we prepare for the most exciting and energetic convention in Republican history," Cino said. "The official proceedings of our convention are key to presenting Sen. John McCain's vision to the world, and successfully launching him on to the White House."

Kahler's responsibilities include the line-by-line production of the convention, including the scheduling of participants and working with the convention's executive producer to run the official program. Kahler will manage a staff of more than 50 people who will ensure the proper following of parliamentary procedures in the nomination of Sen. McCain and the Republican vice-presidential candidate, and the adoption of the rules and platform of the Republican National Committee for the next four years.
"Our convention will be the center of the political universe, and I am honored to have a role in helping nominate Sen. McCain," Kahler said. "I am very proud to be a Republican, and very proud to do my part in presenting our party, and our presidential nominee, to the people of America and the world."

A lifelong Republican, Kahler began her career in politics at the age of four, gathering signatures for her father, former White House Chief of Staff Andrew Card, in his run for the Massachusetts State House of Representatives. She has also worked on political campaigns at the local, state and federal levels in Massachusetts, Virginia, South Carolina, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and California. In addition, she has spent time on Capitol Hill serving in several roles for former Rep. Peter Blute (R-MA)

WHAT’S GOING ON REPUBLICANS? YOU MADE ME AN INDEPENDENT CONSERVATIVE.
(Some thoughts and discussions that need addressing about a new Contract with America.)

I am totally upset with the Republicans to the point that I have become an independent. During the past four years, the Republicans had total congressional and executive control yet they let the Democrats “run the show”. Why? After the Democrats controlled the congress for the past forty years and were relieved of that control, the Republican majority still let the minority Democrats bully their agendas though the congress as if they were still in charge. The Republicans failed to use their controlling powers to change the leadership of the country back to a conservative position and I am very disappointed with them – they failed and I want my country back !

Let me digress a little to state why I am very disappointed. When I was young, it was government of the people, by the people and for the people. Now, it is government of the government, by the government and for the government. My parents and I were “Truman Democrats” which continued through to the “JFK Democrats”, but now the Democrats have changed into Socialcrats and care little about their country – they do not represent anyone but themselves and the power they can gain.

We the people need a strong and dynamic God fearing candidate who will defend the constitution of our sovereign republic and stand tall in integrity for the people who employ him. We need another “Eisenhower, Mac Arthur or Reagan” leader who will be steadfast in the defense of this country, yet allow the generals to run the war and stop micro managing it. Our country can be a member of the global world; but we do not need to compromise our sovereign republic during the process.

Problems that need to be resolved:

1. Illegal Aliens:
We need someone who is strong on stopping the illegal alien flow by closing our borders and willing to deport those who are entering our country illegally. This is of utmost importance if we are to save this nation. They have broken the law and need to be dealt with legally and President Bush is not doing it. There are up to 30 million illegal aliens in this country which contribute up to 25 to 30 percent of the prisoners in our prisons. If amnesty is granted to these thirty million illegal aliens, then each may bring another three to five more family members into our country thereby diluting the population beyond anything recognizable as the America we know today. This will lead us into a third-world nation. The free medical and dental care, in addition to the Social Security benefits, are bankrupting the hospitals, and soon the Social Security system will follow leaving those who paid in to it without benefits.

First, immediately stem the flow of illegal aliens from coming into our country by building a fence – get the design from Israel if we have a problem with design. Second, we need to cut off all medical, dental and social security benefits except for valid emergency medical care. Third, we need to change the law to disallow citizenship for illegal alien mothers who come across the border and have babies – liberal Canada has enacted this law and we need to follow suit immediately. Forth, business must provide legal social security numbers for each employee or not be able to claim their wages as a tax item. As a result, some will pack up and go back to Mexico or South America on their own when the free things and jobs disappear. This is currently a very dangerous Homeland Security issue since border-patrol agents have found various objects that link to Muslims as some who have crossed the border illegally, e.g., Arab Qurans and other Islamic paraphernalia. They were seen wearing Mexican clothing and sombreros to camouflage their identities. What is being done about this?

2.Infanticide:
The Democrats want to continue murdering babies as they are being born, yet want to save the whales, snail darters (small fish) and treat every other kind of animal (including food animals) better than humans. This must be stopped immediately and any laws to that effect must be repealed and never be allowed again.

2. Marriage:
Traditional marriage has been between a man and a women since the beginning of time and this must not be changed by the “Gay Mafia”. The nuclear family is the smallest element of a society and essential for the foundation of a country; the failure, of which, will allow our country to ultimately disappear. A law must be initiated to disallow any other relationship of any kind other than the traditional marriage.

3. Oil Control:
Our gas prices have doubled or tripled in the past year and it appears that there is horrendous gouging at the pumps. The problem is that the fuel shortage is caused by government's restrictive regulations levied on the oil companies thereby preventing oil exploration and drilling in addition to refining processes. It appears that big government is controlled by and in the pocket of the Liberals or "Greens". This has currently surfaced and is self-explanatory whereby Democrat House leader, Nancy Pelosi is preventing these bills from going through the system to be voted on and no one is doing anything about it. There is plenty of oil in Alaska, South Dakota and off the coast of Florida. Even the Chinese are beginning to drill of the coast of Florida. We must re-think drilling in those oil-rich sites where exploration research already indicates the availability of oil.

4. Tort Reform:
Effort must be initiated to pass tort reform to give lawyers a small fixed amount for class-action law suits. Currently, they get millions of dollars when the recipients of the suit just get a few dollars each for this type of lawsuit. In addition, only a small percentage fee should be allowed for other lawsuits – it is totally out of control and is damaging the credibility of the law. Thirdly, frivolous lawsuits must be eliminated by a review mechanism minimizing any further action – the trial lawyers have been wastefully tying up the courts while lining their pockets with rewards they do not deserve.

5. Accountability:
Clinton fired 93 U.S. Attorneys and we said nothing. After six years, Bush fires 9 U.S. Attorneys and the Democrats go ballistic and try to fire our Attorney General Gonzales and we say nothing. Washington State U.S. Attorney General was fired for incompetence – he did nothing when our voting system was totally dysfunctional and allowed a fraudulent governor to be elected after two recounts consisting of dead people, felons and double votes.

Clinton’s Security Chief, Sandy Berger, steals top secret documents (probably involving the Clintons), which should have been investigated by a grand jury, and still should be investigated (he should be in prison) but no reprimand was issued.

Democrat’s Mississippi senator Jefferson was caught with $50,000 bribe money in his freezer and should be in prison but is still walking free. What would happen if he were a Republican?

Clinton’s administration lost top-secret computer disks at Los Alamos, which ended up in China. It gave them missile technology contributing to their successful missile tests (missiles are pointed this way) and no one has been reprimanded for that traitorous act.

The ACLU (paid for by George Soros) are now removing Christian crosses from memorials and the Ten Commandments from federal court houses and buildings. At the same time, religious Islamic foot washing basins are being installed at a Minnesota or Michigan college as well as at a Kansas city Airport using tax payer money. One may remember that the constitution does not specify there is no separation of church and state, but that the state cannot establish or interfere with a religion. It has been wrongly interpreted all these years and our Christian nation is currently being destroyed from within day-by-day and place-by-place, yet the Islamic religion mosques have free reign for prayer calls in some neighborhoods, several times a day, while their mosques continue teaching hatred of America behind closed doors.

During Jimmy Carter’s presidency, he signed away the Panama Canal to a “banty rooster” Socialist Dictator when records show that America actually bought the property, had deeds to the land, and owned it out right – it could have been a state. But since Carter gave it back to the Panamanians, a civilian Chinese company, who reports directly to the Red Chinese Army (on both ends of the canal), is now in charge and controls it. The Red Chinese Army has soldiers stationed at both ends of the canal as well. Good Job “Jimmy”.
