Senator George LeMieux Avoid Reliance on Russians; Add Shuttle Flights

Senator George LeMieux at Coco Beach Space rallyOf all the "missteps" that the President has taken, we find the discontinuation of the manned space program to be the most revealing of his methods and motives.

WASHINGTON - U.S. Senator George LeMieux (R-FL) today issued the following statement in response to comments by former astronaut and U.S. Senator John Glenn in support of additional Space Shuttle flights.
Senator LeMieux said:

"I fully support Senator John Glenn's call for additional Shuttle flights. Relying solely on the Russians for access to space is irresponsible. President Obama's ill-conceived plans for NASA will cost Florida thousands of jobs while dismantling a critical workforce and national capability. I look forward to working with Senator Glenn and other leaders in space exploration to correct the Obama Administration's misguided plans to outsource human space exploration to the Russians." ###
