Wauwatosa – Today, the campaign for Scott Walker released a new ad that sets the record straight on Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett’s slanderous attacks against Scott Walker.

Mayor Tom Barrett’s campaign recently released a TV ad that contained three fabricated Milwaukee Journal Sentinel (MJS) front pages aimed at distorting Walker’s fiscally responsible record as county executive.
“Unlike Scott Walker, who is focused on a debate about the issues, Tom Barrett continues to launch false, negative, and slanderous attacks against Scott Walker,” said Gilkes. “It’s unacceptable that despite the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel’s complaint about the Barrett’s use of their own news stories, Tom Barrett continues to stand by his slanderous attacks The people of Wisconsin deserve better than elected officials who make stuff up.

Eext Transcript (30): "Lies"

BARRETT: "So when it comes to the negative ads, I trust you to separate fact from fiction."

ANNOUNCER: "Well Tom Barrett, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel just did that. They said your ad against Scott Walker was like a forgery: using fake front pages, and pictures of Scott Walker in stories that weren't even about him.
'Pants on Fire' is the Journal Sentinel's ruling on Tom Barrett's deliberate distortions. Leaders are supposed to make a difference, not make stuff up."
