GEORGE Bush won the US presidency yesterday after a bruising election that left America divided and millions worldwide fearful at four more years of right-wing rule.

Kerry had hoped that a bloody war in Iraq and disastrous domestic policies that cost millions of lost jobs and a trillion-dollar deficit would lose Dubya the White House.

But despite Bush's shabby track record 58,640,761 Americans dismissed Kerry as an untrustworthy "flip- flopper" who kept changing his mind, and settled for the leader they knew. more from
