The Mayor of London, Ken Livingstone, has launched the London Bombings Relief Fund in association with the British Red Cross. He also announced that a book of condolence would be opened at City Hall on Monday. Donate to the London Bombings Relief Fund
Metropolitan Police commissioner Sir Ian Blair has now confirmed that 'at least 50' people died during the four explosions.
In a press conference on Friday morning, he told reporters there was still no evidence that the explosions had been caused by suicide bombers, although he was 'not ruling it out.'
In paying tribute to the people of London and the emergency services for the way they responded to yesterday's events, Sir Ian said he and his officers had an 'implacable resolve' to catch those responsible and would 'bend every sinew' to do so.

The Downing Street website has received thousands of emails since the London bombings. The Prime Minister is very grateful to every one who has taken the trouble to write in. All messages will be passed on to the Mayor of London's Office for inclusion in the book of condolence.
