Washington (Dec 9) In the Weekly Republican Address, House Speaker John Boehner touts the Middle Class Tax Relief & Job Creation Act, legislation the House will vote on next week that will help to create thousands of new American jobs while helping families struggling with the consequences of President Obama’s failed economic policies. This jobs bill (H.R. 3630) will extend the payroll tax cut, protect Social Security, reform and extend unemployment insurance, and extend pro-growth tax relief for businesses of all sizes – while also advancing several bipartisan measures that will directly support the creation of private-sector jobs, including the Keystone XL energy pipeline. Everything in the House bill is offset by spending cuts, rather than through tax increases that would hit small businesses and destroy jobs, as proposed in Senate Democrats’ bill.

John Boehner Weekly Republican Address

"There’s no more urgent task for Washington than getting our economy back to creating jobs. Unemployment is still well above eight percent. Millions of Americans are looking for work or have simply stopped looking altogether. That’s unacceptable, plain and simple.

"Republicans have, as promised, focused all year on our plan to remove government-made barriers to job creation. In all, 27 bipartisan, House-passed jobs bills are now waiting for a vote in the Democratic-run Senate. One of those initiatives is the REINS Act, passed just a few days ago. It would require Congress to review any new regulation that has a major impact on the economy.

"Nearly three years ago, President Obama proposed a ‘stimulus’ plan with the promise it would keep unemployment below eight percent. It didn’t work. Because his policies aren’t working, the president has asked Congress to pass legislation that would extend unemployment benefits and payroll tax relief for working Americans.

"Next week, the House is going to do that. To help Americans who are struggling in the current economy, we will act on a jobs bill that extends payroll tax relief, extends and reforms unemployment benefits, and cuts government spending. There will be no tax hikes on America’s job creators.

"This bill will also contain several bipartisan jobs initiatives, including a provision – which is in the president’s jobs plan as well as ours – to continue a tax incentive that allows employers, small and large, to invest now in new machinery and equipment, grow their businesses, and create jobs.

"Another bipartisan provision in this bill supports the job-creating Keystone energy project.

"As you may know, the Keystone energy project would create tens of thousands of American jobs and reduce our dependence on oil from the Middle East. This jobs project has bipartisan support in the House and the Senate. It’s backed by a broad-based coalition, from small businesses to organized labor.

"You’ve heard President Obama say the American people “can’t wait” to take action on jobs. Well, the Keystone project is the very definition of an idea the American people can’t wait for Washington to take action on.

"As a matter of fact, Stephen Harper, the prime minister of Canada, has warned that if the United States doesn’t approve this project, Canada will be forced to move forward with other customers, potentially China. We can’t stand by and allow that to happen. Those jobs are too important.

"Unfortunately, the president wants to put off a decision on the Keystone project until after next year’s election. Not only that – he now says he will reject the House’s jobs bill if it includes support for the project.

"This is no time for the same-old my-way-or-the-highway theatrics. It’s no secret Democrats and Republicans often disagree about the best way to create jobs, but we can’t let those disagreements prevent us from acting when we agree. There’s bipartisan support for extending payroll tax relief and unemployment benefits. There’s bipartisan support for tax incentives that allow employers to invest and expand. And there’s bipartisan support for the Keystone energy project. We should get these things done.

"As the president has said, the American people 'can’t wait' for action on jobs. At a time when they’re still asking the question ‘where are the jobs?,’ the Keystone energy project is a bipartisan proposal the president ought to support. Next week, the House will act to do the right thing for jobs and economic growth. We remain ready to work with the president and find common ground, which is what the American people expect and deserve.

"Merry Christmas, and thanks for listening."

Paul Ryan Unveils Comprehensive Reform Package

House Budget Committee Logo

WASHINGTON – This morning, Members of the House Budget Committee introduced a comprehensive package of ten legislative reforms designed to help repair the broken budget process. House Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan issued the following statement upon release of these reforms:

“The federal budget process is broken. Washington stumbles from budget crisis to budget crisis, with little to no oversight of how government spends hardworking taxpayers’ money. The incentives currently favor those who want to spend more, and the result is a crushing burden of debt that is hurting economic growth today and threatening economic prosperity tomorrow.

“I’m pleased to join a team of reformers at the House Budget Committee committed to repair the broken budget process. My colleagues at the Committee have put forward 10 proposals designed to strengthen spending controls, enhance oversight, and increase transparency. These reforms mark an important first step to getting our arms around the problem, but there is no substitute for political will in solving our structural budget problems.

“The House Budget Committee will keep advancing solutions that deal directly with the drivers of the debt, help get our economy back on track, and ensure future generations a shot at the American Dream.”

The budget process reform package includes the following bills:

Spending Control

1. The Legally Binding Budget Act (Lead sponsor: Rep. Diane Black of Tennessee)

Gives the budget the force of law by converting it from a concurrent to a joint resolution, which requires the President’s signature. Upon a presidential veto, the joint resolution automatically reverts to a concurrent resolution.

2. The Spending Control Act (Lead sponsor: Rep. John Campbell of California)

Establishes binding limitations on federal spending and deficits – all enforced by a sequester of no more than 4 percent of programs – within each category if the program is growing faster than inflation.

3. The Expedited Line-Item Veto and Rescissions Act
(Lead sponsors: Chairman Paul Ryan of Wisconsin, Ranking Member Chris Van Hollen of Maryland)

Provides for the expedited consideration by Congress of specific requests by the President to reduce discretionary spending in appropriations legislation.

Enhanced Oversight

4. The Biennial Budgeting and Enhanced Oversight Act
(Lead sponsor: Rep. Reid Ribble of Wisconsin)

Establishes a biennial budgeting cycle where Congress adopts a budget resolution in the first session of Congress (i.e., odd-numbered years) and considers authorization legislation in the second session, providing greater opportunities for review of government spending.

5. The Baseline Reform Act (Lead sponsor: Rep. Rob Woodall of Georgia)

Reforms the budget “baseline” to remove automatic inflation increases in discretionary accounts, and to require a comparison to the previous year’s spending levels.

6. The Government Shutdown Prevention Act (Lead sponsor: Rep. James Lankford of Oklahoma)

If Congress fails to enact appropriations bills by the beginning of the fiscal year (Oct. 1), provides automatic authority to fund programs at a slightly reduced rate from the previous year’s level.

7. The Review Every Dollar Act (Lead sponsor: Rep. Jason Chaffetz of Utah)

Requires periodic sunset reviews and reauthorization of all federal programs to ensure the programs perform an appropriate role and are operating effectively.

Requires all transfers from the general fund to the Highway Trust Fund to be offset or counted as new spending.

Removes all direct spending provisions from Pell Grants and moves all funding to the discretionary spending category.

Requires any new rule or regulation promulgated by the administration that includes new spending to be explicitly funded by Congress before such regulations take effect.

Provides a mechanism through which Members can devote savings from spending bills to deficit reduction.

Full Transparency

8. The Balancing our Obligations for the Long Term Act
(Lead sponsor: Rep. Mick Mulvaney of South Carolina)

Caps total spending over the long term to reduce the burden of government to no more than 20 percent of the economy by gradually reducing spending.

Requires Congress to review long-term budget trends every five years and provides a fast-track legislative process to put federal spending on a sustainable path.

Authorizes reconciliation of long-term savings (beyond the current limit of the budget resolution’s typical 10-year window, up to 75 years) in Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid.

Requires CBO long-term estimates beyond the 10-year window.

Requires the President’s budget to extend beyond the 10-year window.

Strengthens the statutory requirement directing the President to submit legislation to save Medicare if the general fund subsidy to the program exceeds 45 percent of the program’s costs.

Requires GAO and OMB to report annually on the federal government’s unfunded obligations.

9. The Budget and Accounting Transparency Act
(Lead sponsor: Rep. Scott Garrett of New Jersey)

Reforms the Credit Reform Act to incorporate Fair Value accounting principles.

Recognizes the budgetary impact of the GSEs by formally bringing the entities on-budget.

Brings the U.S. Postal Service on-budget.

Requires a CBO & OMB study on offsetting receipts/collections/revenues.

Requires all federal agencies make public the budgetary justification materials prepared in support of their requests for taxpayer dollars.

10. The Pro-Growth Budgeting Act (Lead sponsor: Rep. Tom Price of Georgia)

Requires CBO to provide an assessment of the macroeconomic impact of major legislation.

Olympia Snowe Weekly Republican Address TEXT PODCAST VIDEO 12/03/11 Podcast of the address: Download MP3 for PODCAST || FULL TEXT TRANSCRIPT BELOW. ||

Full Text transcript of Senator Snowe’s Address:

Olympia Snowe Weekly Republican Address

“Hello, I’m Senator Olympia Snowe from Maine. In the coming days, the United States Senate will have a long overdue debate and vote on a constitutional amendment to require a balanced federal budget. And let there be no mistake, we have no greater duty than to once and for all obligate the government to live within its means and spend no more than what it takes in.

“I have been a longtime champion of a balanced budget amendment in both the House and Senate to prevent precisely the kind of fiscal quagmire we are enmeshed in today, as our federal government borrows an astounding 40 cents of every dollar we spend.

“The fact is, debts and deficits do matter. We have now entered what some have called an ‘economic danger zone.’ Our outstanding debt, which has now reached $15 trillion, has stunted economic growth, costing millions of American jobs. Just as disturbingly, the government currently pays a staggering $200 billion per year in interest to foreign countries that hold our treasury bonds…countries like China, and Russia. And that number is projected to increase to $1 trillion per year by 2021.

“Indeed, in the three short years since President Obama has taken office, the national debt has increased by nearly $5 trillion. So when the President stated last summer that, ‘We don’t need a constitutional amendment to do our jobs,’ well…not exactly. If Congress were capable of doing its job, it wouldn’t have added nearly $10 trillion to our national debt since 1997, the year a balanced budget amendment failed to pass the Senate by just a single vote. Just imagine where we would be today, if we had accomplished then what we must achieve now.

“So let’s be clear. The impending vote to amend the Constitution represents a choice between changing business as usual in Washington, or embracing the status quo that we can no longer afford. The status quo that has led to an inexcusable 950 straight days without passing a federal budget…the status quo that has brought us the first ever downgrade of America’s sterling triple-A credit rating…and the status quo that was exemplified by the so-called supercommittee’s inability to agree on $1.2 trillion in deficit reduction over the next 10 years.

“Even the automatic cuts resulting from the supercommittee’s failure to reach an agreement could all be undone by this or any future Congress – unless we pass a balanced budget amendment like those already adopted by 49 other states, which will bind each successive Congress in perpetuity.

“Now, I’ve heard all the arguments against this amendment. And we will hear them all again. Some even portray a balanced budget amendment as simply a ‘gimmick’ that isn’t worthy of Congress’ consideration. But I say, if this really were a gimmick, Congress would have passed it a long time ago.

“The bottom line is, the real reason many lawmakers don’t want a balanced budget amendment is the exact reason why it’s so essential. They don’t want their hands tied…they want to continue to spend without restraint. Their way has been to break budgets and amass more and more debt…all the while promising Congress will one day balance the budget. Well, as we sadly know, the promises were empty, the debt is astronomical, and their way hasn’t worked. Now, it’s time for our way.

“For too long, the burden has fallen to supporters of the balanced budget amendment to justify its necessity. Today, at this moment when our debt has exceeded the size of our entire economy, I ask you, the American people, to place the burden squarely where it belongs…on those who would oppose this measure. In typical Washington fashion, they’re hoping you won’t notice this historic vote is occurring. They are banking on you thinking it doesn’t matter.

“Well, with the national debt at $15 trillion and rising, let me suggest there are 15 trillion reasons to prove them wrong. Fifteen trillion reasons to make a stand. Fifteen trillion reasons to contact your Senators and urge them to support our balanced budget amendment…Senate Joint Resolution 10…so that we can finally seize the fiscal reins, and reclaim our future for our children and our grandchildren.

“Thank you for listening, and may God bless America.”

Speaker Boehner Statement on November Unemployment Report

Speaker John Boehner highlights the Republican Plan for America’s Job Creators

Speaker Boehner Statement on November Unemployment Report WASHINGTON, DC (Dec 2)

House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) issued the following statement today after the Department of Labor released its unemployment report for November 2011:

“Any job creation is welcome news, but the jobless rate in this country is still unacceptable. Today marks the 34th consecutive month of unemployment above eight percent. As you may remember, the Obama administration promised unemployment would stay below eight percent if its ‘stimulus’ was enacted. That promise has gone unfulfilled.

“Because the president’s policies have failed, the House has passed a series of bills designed to remove government barriers to private sector job creation. There are now 25 bipartisan jobs bills passed by the House awaiting a vote in the Senate. The key to getting all of these jobs measures enacted is the United States Senate. President Obama should use this opportunity to call on Senate Democrats to immediately give these bipartisan bills the vote they deserve.

“The American people want action on jobs, and the House is listening to the American people.”

Ron Paul releases online ad that challenges Newt Gingrich on a group of issues dear to conservative voters VIDEO

150-second online ad cross-examines the former Speaker’s record on policy, values and seriousness

LAKE JACKSON, Texas – The Ron Paul 2012 Presidential campaign announced today that it has released and will broadly distribute a 150-second online advertisement that challenges former House Speaker Newt Gingrich on a group of issues dear to conservative voters.

Much of the ad is in the former Speaker’s own voice, and after a few statements by Newt it follows with an image of him sitting on a loveseat beside former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, the two chuckling over their agreement concerning as-yet scientifically proven anthropogenic global warming. The ad also features Newt’s knee-jerk assault on Rep. Paul Ryan’s (R-WI) modest budget proposal, and the former Speaker’s lobbying ties to government mortgage giants Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae that perpetuated the financial crisis and recession. In addition, the spot showcases discussion of Newt’s lobbying ties to healthcare firms prior to his support of an Obama-Pelosi-Reid individual mandate as part of the recent wildly unpopular healthcare reform, to the absolute horror of nationally-syndicated conservative radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh.

Taken together, claims made in the ad present conservative voters with a question about Newt, and indeed the ad concludes with this query. And that is “What will you tell me next time?”

The campaign will send the ad to a far-reaching email list of conservative voters nationally, including in key early voting states, and it will purchase banner ads on national and state websites where conservative readers congregate.

“Our campaign is making a bold move to debunk the myth that the Newt we are seeing on the 2012 campaign trail is the conservative he has been touted to be all along. This step we are taking is necessary, as voters are seeking authenticity among conservatives who are able to show a decades-long career of consistently walking the walk of Constitutional principles, limited government, and promoting sound money and economic policy. Ron Paul is the only Republican presidential candidate with that record,” said Ron Paul 2012 National Campaign Chairman Jesse Benton.

John Boehner, Republicans stand ready to work with Democrats to extend the payroll tax break and unemployment insurance VIDEO

Washington (Dec 1) At his weekly press conference, House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) reiterated that Republicans stand ready to work with Democrats to extend the payroll tax break and unemployment insurance, but reaffirmed that it must be done in a fiscally-responsible way to protect Social Security and avoid compounding the crippling debt problems facing our nation. Speaker Boehner also highlighted House action on three additional jobs bills this week, and urged President Obama to call on Senate Democrats to act on these, and more than 20 other bipartisan, House-passed jobs bills awaiting action.

BOEHNER: REPUBLICANS READY TO WORK WITH THE PRESIDENT TO FIND COMMON GROUND ON JOBS, PAYROLL TAX BREAK EXTENSION:

“Republicans told the president back in September that we are ready to work with him to find common ground on jobs, including an extension of the payroll tax cut and extending unemployment insurance. And that offer still stands. The key question is: how do we pay for it?

“When the president used a joint session of Congress in September to announce his plan, he promised the American people that every penny would be paid for – including the extension of the payroll tax break. And Democrats in Congress have also conceded that it should be paid for.”

BOEHNER: PAYROLL TAX BREAK MUST BE PAID FOR TO PROTECT SOCIAL SECURITY:

“It’s important that the payroll tax cut be paid for because that money is used to fund the Social Security Trust Fund, which is already facing imminent bankruptcy. Unlike other taxes, the payroll tax is used to fund Social Security. As such, the revenues that the payroll tax generates are already dedicated to a specific purpose. Revenue collected via the payroll tax finances benefits for current and future retirees. And any drop in revenue resulting from a temporary reduction in the payroll tax that is not paid for will harm the Social Security Trust Fund and accelerate the program’s looming bankruptcy.

“So Republicans agree that we need to focus on jobs, but we need to do it in a way that doesn’t harm Social Security or add more to the country’s already large deficit. Americans know we can’t get our economy moving and create jobs without dealing with Washington’s out-of-control spending. Republicans are ready to work with the President and the Democrats to extend the payroll tax cut and unemployment insurance temporarily, but they must be offset with spending cuts elsewhere.”

BOEHNER: HOUSE HAS PASSED MORE THAN 20 JOBS BILLS THAT ARE STUCK IN THE DEMOCRATIC-CONTROLLED SENATE:

“This week, Republicans are taking several more steps in order to help create jobs and boost our economy. The House will pass three additional jobs bills to help create a better environment for private-sector job creation. This is in addition to the 20 bills that we already have sitting over in the United States Senate. Our plan to help America’s job creators – we’ve got some of these enacted into law through both chambers, but there’s 20 bills sitting over in the United States Senate.”

BOEHNER: PRESIDENT OBAMA SHOULD CALL ON SENATE DEMOCRATS TO VOTE ON BIPARTISAN, HOUSE-PASSED JOBS BILLS:

“And I would urge the president to call on the Senate to allow votes on these bipartisan bills, and ensure that they receive a fair vote in the Senate. So we hope the president will put his partisan politics aside and urge the Senate to move these bipartisan bills as quickly as possible.”

Governor Christie to President Obama "What Are We Paying You For?" VIDEO TEXT TRANSCRIPT

Governor Christie to President Obama "What Are We Paying You For?" VIDEO

FULL TEXT TRANSCRIPT:

Governor Chris Christie: I believe that the Occupy movement and the Tea Party movement come -- their genesis -- is from the same feeling, which is an anger that government can’t get things done. And so, now, that is the last similarity between the Tea Party movement and the Occupy movement. But I believe that the cause for their anger comes from the same place. They look at Washington D.C. and they look at a president who is a bystander in the Oval Office. You know, I was angry this weekend, listening to the spin coming out of the administration about the failure of the Supercommittee. And that the President knew that it was doomed for failure so he didn’t get involved.

Governor Christie to President Obama 'What Are We Paying You For?' VIDEO TEXT TRANSCRIPT

Well then what the hell are we paying you for? It’s doomed for failure so I’m not getting involved? Well, what have you been doing exactly? I mean, I will tell you that I think both parties deserve blame for what’s going on in Washington D.C., both parties do. They’re spending more time talking at each other than talking with each other. We all know what the solutions to these problems are, we’ve done them in New Jersey in many areas, but we don’t have the political will to get them done. And in New Jersey, the reason why they got things done is because I called people into a room and said we’re going to solve this problem and I had people of good will on the other side who said they believed it was their obligation, regardless of party, to get done things like pension and benefit reform.

That Mayor Redd can tell you personally how it’s helping her and her budget situation in Camden. Why the President of the United States refuses to do this is astonishing to me. I mean, you know, if he wanted to run for Senate again and just be 1 of 100, I’m sure he could have gotten reelected over and over again in Illinois. When you’re president, it’s kind of what I was talking about before, you know 41, 21 and 1, well he’s the one in Washington. And he’s got to get something done here. And it’s not good enough just to say well, I’ll get it done after the election.

Ron Paul Remains Top-Tier in Latest Iowa Poll, Strong second, leads field in Independent vote

LAKE JACKSON, Texas – A NewsMax / Insider Advantage poll released yesterday shows 2012 Republican Presidential candidate Ron Paul in second place in the state of Iowa, solidifying his position at the top of the field and remaining a serious threat to take the Iowa Caucuses in January. Paul won 13 percent of likely caucus-goers in the poll and an impressive 30 percent of independent voters, leading the rest of the field. In addition, Paul won 47 percent of voters between 18 and 29 years old.

“The latest poll results clearly prove Ron Paul’s status as a top contender, and confirms that our campaign is continuing to surge in early states,” said Ron Paul 2012 Presidential Campaign Chairman Jesse Benton. “The American people are ready for real change in Washington and Dr. Paul is the only candidate who has a plan to cut $1 trillion in spending, balance the budget, and restore prosperity to the American people.”

This latest poll comes on the heels of a number of recent polls placing Paul among the top three in key early states. According to a recent American Research Group poll, Paul takes third among likely Republican caucus-goers in Iowa. He also scores third place in New Hampshire, according to a recent WMUR/University of New Hampshire poll. And the most recent Suffolk University/7 News poll has Paul holding steady in second place with 14 percent among likely New Hampshire primary voters.

In addition, a late October CNN/Time poll showed the Texas congressman in the top three in the key Republican primary states of Iowa, New Hampshire, and South Carolina.

Sheriff Joe Arpaio Endorses Rick Perry VIDEO

Citing Strong Criminal Justice and Border Security Record, Sheriff Joe Arpaio Endorses Gov. Rick Perry for President Print Posted on November 29th, 2011.

AMHERST, N.H. – Texas Gov. Rick Perry today received the endorsement of Sheriff Joe Arpaio, a steadfast advocate for border security and national leader in combating illegal immigration, citing Gov. Perry’s unmatched efforts to bolster border security in Texas in light of a federal government that for too long has abdicated this basic responsibility to the states. Sheriff Arpaio made his announcement at Joey’s Diner in Amherst, New Hampshire.

“The federal government has failed on border crime and border enforcement, and no candidate for president has done more to secure the border than Governor Rick Perry. I have been watching Governor Perry and Texas closely and know his border surge operations with state, local and federal law enforcement officials have helped shut down the illegal trafficking of weapons, drugs and people,” said Sheriff Arpaio. “I’m endorsing Rick Perry because we need a tough-on-crime president who will champion and fund full-time border security operations from Brownsville to San Diego. Governor Perry has a superior border security record and plan to make our border and our nation safer.”

As governor of Texas, Rick Perry has diligently worked to fill the gap left by Washington’s abject failure to secure the nation’s southern border with Mexico, and supported and passed measures to combat illegal immigration.

He has directed more than $400 million since 2005 to provide law enforcement the tools they need to combat border-related crime. The governor’s initiatives have put more boots on the ground, including Texas Rangers and National Guard units, and improved technology to help law enforcement detect and deter criminal activity on the border. In January 2009, Gov. Perry asked President Obama to authorize 1,000 additional National Guard troops and six helicopters to assist the state in doing Washington’s job, but he has refused.

“Sheriff Arpaio knows the struggle border states face as Washington politicians and bureaucrats fail time and again to properly secure our nation’s southern boundary with Mexico,” said Gov. Perry. “I am honored to have Sheriff Arpaio’s support for my presidential campaign and our shared goals of fighting border crime with more personnel, border fencing and surveillance. A secure border is vital to protecting America’s national security, public safety and jobs. As president, I will secure the border within a year putting thousands more federal boots on the ground, strategic fencing and aerial resources to fight border crime and make our states and nation safer.”

Gov. Perry’s border security initiatives have resulted in the seizure of 6.8 million pounds of marijuana; 82,353 pounds of cocaine; 1,835 pounds of heroin; and 7,552 pounds of methamphetamine which has an estimated value of more than $6.5 billion. In addition, officers have seized $227 million in currency and more than 3,500 illegal weapons.

Additionally, to combat illegal immigration, Gov. Perry:

Championed a Voter ID law that ensures only American citizens will be able to vote in elections;

Signed into law a requirement that only citizens and legal residents may obtain a driver license;

Declared legislation outlawing “sanctuary cities” an emergency item in Texas, and added it to the call of the special session;

Fought for tougher penalties for those who engage in human trafficking;

Signed a law that requires counties to assist the state in tracking the number of illegal immigrants in Texas county jails;

Passed an omnibus gang bill providing even more tools for law enforcement to be able to infiltrate and break up the transnational gangs; and

Protected a Texas law that prevents any public agency, taxing jurisdiction or economic development corporation from receiving public subsidies if they have been found to have hired undocumented workers.

Also known as “America’s Toughest Sheriff,” Sheriff Joe Arpaio has been elected five times as Maricopa County Sheriff in Arizona, serving in the post for 20 years, and is respected for his successful efforts to fight crime, combat illegal immigration and raise awareness of the federal government’s ongoing failure to secure the border. He served in the U.S. Army from 1950 to 1953, and as a police officer in Washington, D.C. and Las Vegas for five years. He then joined the Bureau of Narcotics, eventually renamed the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) where he became one of the very first federal agents sent overseas to help dismantle the international heroin conspiracy operating in Turkey and throughout the Middle East. Sheriff Arpaio was a regional director for the DEA for Mexico and South America and was head of the DEA for Texas and Arizona.

Ginger White accuses Herman Cain VIDEO

Detractors are trying once again to derail the Cain Train with more accusations of past events that never happened. The Cain Campaign is not surprised that another female accuser has come forward due to the fact that earlier allegations were unable to force Herman Cain to drop his presidential bid to renew America.

“The American public is tired of dirty politics and smear tactics as evident of their tremendous outpouring of support for me, my family and my campaign this past month. I am running for President of the United States of America and the reality is that there are individuals out there that favor the status quo of higher taxes, more government and political cronyism and they are afraid of a Cain Presidency,” said Mr. Cain.

“I have spoken directly to the American people and have been 100% honest with them. My plan is to continue to spread my vision on how I would renew America and keep her safe. I will not fight false claims as it is not what America needs or wants,” continued Mr. Cain.

Mr. Cain has spent four decades climbing the corporate ladder rising to the level of CEO at multiple successful business enterprises. Mr. Cain is a proven leader and the type of leader America badly needs at this time in her history.

Sandy Adams Weekly Republican Address TEXT PODCAST VIDEO 11/26/11

Washington (Nov 22) Delivering the Weekly Republican Address, Rep. Sandy Adams (R-FL) delivers a Thanksgiving message about the importance of coming together and looking out for those less fortunate, especially the millions of Americans who are looking for work and have been for some time. “Together, we can and should find common ground to empower small businesses and remove government barriers that make it harder to create jobs,” Rep. Adams says. Rep. Adams is in her first term representing Florida’s 24th Congressional District.

Sandy Adams Weekly Republican Address TEXT PODCAST VIDEO 11/26/11

“Hello, I’m Sandy Adams. I have the great honor of representing Florida’s 24th Congressional District, which is home to some of America’s greatest treasures, including the Kennedy Space Center and Daytona International Speedway.

“This week, my family, like yours, will take part in one of America’s oldest and most cherished traditions – a day of thanksgiving. It’s a time to catch up with one another, enjoy great food, and wish peace and grace for all.

“In our prayers we include those less fortunate, especially the millions of our fellow citizens who are out of work.

“We also keep faith with families marking the holiday without their loved ones who are serving in uniform. As Americans, we not only count our blessings – we share them with those in need.

“Fellowship is an important element of our national character. It may well be the first element, too.

“To realize their dream of freedom, the Mayflower settlers had to endure an unforgiving winter with few provisions. To survive, they had to lend a hand to one another. With every crop they planted, and every house they raised, a ‘shining city on a hill’ was being built. Those settlers understood what we do now, that there is no substitute for the compassion and determination of a free people.

“After a plentiful harvest, the settlers gathered for a feast to give thanks for the bounty of nature and peace with their neighbors.

“This tradition was born and formalized in tough times. It was during the Civil War that President Lincoln declared a national day of thanksgiving so Americans could, in his words, ‘implore the Almighty Hand to heal the wounds of the nation and to restore it.’

“Today this message of humility and perseverance remains within our reach, thanks to generations of brave patriots who have preserved the blessings of this land we love.

“Central to the legacy we have inherited is an economy that promotes opportunity and entrepreneurship, and it is our duty to pass it on.

“Together, we can and should find common ground to empower small businesses and remove government barriers that make it harder to create jobs.

“Together, we can and should find common ground to deliver a government that honors the voice of the people.

“The challenges we face demand nothing less.

“On behalf of all my Republican colleagues in Congress and around the country, thank you for the privilege to serve you and your families. Here’s to a happy and healthy Thanksgiving.”

Mitt Romney open letter to President Obama FULL TEXT

Mitt Romney sent President Obama an open letter laying out how the former Massachusetts governor plans to criticize the president if Romney wins the Republican nomination. FULL TEXT

Mitt Romney open letter to President Obama, on Flickr

Dear President Obama,

Welcome to New Hampshire.I hope you enjoy your visit. In 49 days, voters here will be going to the polls to choose a Republican nominee to run against you. I would like to lay out for you some of what I will be saying on the campaign trail if I am fortunate enough to become my party’s candidate.

I would begin by acknowledging that you were dealt a hard hand. You came into office in the midst of an economic crisis that was not of your making. You were asked to face great challenges and to solve difficult problems. The tasks before you would have taxed the abilities of any new president.

But we now have had three years to watch your policies unfold and to assess their results. The evidence is in and it is unequivocal. I will be blunt. Your policies have failed. It is bad enough that they have fallen short even by the standards your own administration set for itself. But things are much worse than that. Far from bringing the crisis to an end, your policies have actively hindered economic recovery. In some cases, they were the exact opposite of what our government should have been doing.

You and your advisors sold your economic “stimulus” package to Congress on the basis of a forecast that it would hold unemployment below 8 percent. There is a reason why this projection was wildly off base and that unemployment soared above 10 percent and is now stuck around 9 percent. Your stimulus bill was filled with special interest giveaways, and eased the way for your administration to
shovel loan guarantees out the door to politically connected “green” technology firms, some of which are now in bankruptcy, with the taxpayers on the hook for more than $500 million.

Even where crony capitalism did not get in the way, so many projects were far from “shovel ready” or had absolutely nothing to do with creating jobs. Nearly a trillion dollars of tax dollars was spent, our budget deficit exploded, and some 25million Americans remain either unemployed, underemployed, or have given up seeking work altogether. You placed a burden of debt on America that will takegenerations to repay and we got almost nothing in return.

You also failed to grasp the impact of your policies on the American businessclimate. Investment depends upon a degree of certainty, but your administration made it impossible for enterprises to make accurate forecasts about their future costs. If companies have stopped hiring in America, it is in no small part becauseof policies, including Obamacare, Dodd-Frank, and an astonishing tangle of new federal regulations that have snuffed out investment. If we are ever to get America back to work, they all must be repealed.

I will also be talking about how you have catered to favored special interests, like civil-service unions and environmentalists, at the expense of American workers.Take your decision to “delay” building the state-of-the-art Keystone XL oil pipeline. Some 20,000 American jobs are at stake. You may not regard that as a large number, but every one of the unemployed men and women whose future you have sacrificed to satisfy your political base in the environmentalist left deserve farbetter. And this is but one of many examples I can cite.

America deserves better.

It is not America’s laziness that is the problem, as you recently suggested. It is your policies.

So once again, Mr. President, welcome to New Hampshire. We need a great debate about how best to get our country working again. We can’t afford four more years of failure. I believe in unleashing America’s potential. That is what my own campaign for the presidency is all about.

Sincerely, Mitt Romney

Statement from Co-Chairs of the Joint Select Committee on Deficit Reduction

Congressman Jeb Hensarling

WASHINGTON– Today, the Co-Chairs of the Joint Select Committee on Deficit Reduction, Representative Jeb Hensarling (R-TX) and Senator Patty Murray, released the following statement.

"After months of hard work and intense deliberations, we have come to the conclusion today that it will not be possible to make any bipartisan agreement available to the public before the committee’s deadline.

"Despite our inability to bridge the committee's significant differences, we end this process united in our belief that the nation's fiscal crisis must be addressed and that we cannot leave it for the next generation to solve. We remain hopeful that Congress can build on this committee’s work and can find a way to tackle this issue in a way that works for the American people and our economy.

"We are deeply disappointed that we have been unable to come to a bipartisan deficit reduction agreement, but as we approach the uniquely American holiday of Thanksgiving, we want to express our appreciation to every member of this committee, each of whom came into the process committed to achieving a solution that has eluded many groups before us. Most importantly, we want to thank the American people for sharing thoughts and ideas and for providing support and good will as we worked to accomplish this difficult task.

"We would also like to thank our committee staff, in particular Staff Director Mark Prater and Deputy Staff Director Sarah Kuehl, as well as each committee member's staff for the tremendous work they contributed to this effort. We would also like to express our sincere gratitude to Dr. Douglas Elmendorf and Mr. Thomas Barthold and their teams at the Congressional Budget Office and Joint Committee on Taxation, respectively, for the technical support they provided to the committee and its members."

Newt Gingrich Was Right On The 'Super Committee' VIDEO TEXT

In the summer of 2011, the Washington establishment pinned its hopes on a so-called 'Super Committee' of 12 Congressmen and Senators to solve America's deficit and spending problems. The Committee was established with a law that imposed mandatory cuts to defense and other programs as a threat to force action.

Newt Gingrich Super Committee

At the time, Newt Gingrich was alone in calling this "Super Committee" what it was: "a truly dumb idea." Today, Newt 2012 released a new web video, with clips from the August 11th presidential debate in Iowa, where Newt was the leading critic of the "Super Committee" and predicted its failure.

We need a president with the experience of balancing the federal budget and reforming government if we are going to get our fiscal house in order. That's Newt.

Text Transcript of Newt's quotes in the video:

"I think this Super Committee is about as dumb an idea as Washington has come up with in my lifetime."

"I used to run the House of Representatives, I have some general notion of these things. The idea that 523 senators and congressman are going to sit around for 4 months while 12 brilliant people -- mostly picked for political reasons -- are going to sit in some room and brilliantly come up with $1 trillion, or force us to choose between gutting our military and accepting a tax increase is irrational."

"They're going to walk in just before Thanksgiving and say 'Alright, we can shoot you in the head or cut off your right leg, which do you prefer?'"

"What they oughta do is scrap the committee right now, recognize it's a dumb idea, go back to regular legislative business, assign every subcommittee the task of finding savings, do it out in the open through regular legislative order, and get rid of this secret phony business."

Brian Bosma, David Long, make Indiana the 23rd Right to Work state VIDEO TEXT

House Speaker Brian Bosma (R-Indianapolis) issued the following statement following a joint press conference where he announced he will pursue Right to Work legislation this session to bring more economic development opportunity for Hoosiers:

House Speaker Brian Bosma

STATEHOUSE—"Today marks the beginning of the freedom campaign for Hoosier workers. While we are the envy of the Midwest in our job creation efforts, economic development experts tell us that removing the last barriers to job creation in our state will help the quarter of a million unemployed Hoosiers get back to work. That is why my top priority this session is to make Indiana the 23rd Right to Work state in the nation.

"Right to Work isn't about Unions - it is about freedom and economic opportunity. It is about giving all Hoosiers the freedom to choose a job, decide how their hard earned money is spent and bring more employment opportunities to Indiana.

"With the national economic malaise, and our unemployment rate stubbornly hovering around 9 percent, we can't afford to not address this issue this session. Right to Work means back to work for the unemployed. This is America, Hoosiers deserve this freedom."

Senate Pro Tempore Senator David Long (R-Fort Wayne) issued the following statement following a joint press conference where he announced he will pursue Right to Work legislation this session to bring more economic development opportunity for Hoosiers:

STATEHOUSE—"While we've been aggressive in drawing businesses to our state, the realities of the current global economy are clear: without a Right to Work law in Indiana, companies will continue to overlook us and take jobs either out of state or overseas. Hundreds ofthousands of Hoosiers are unemployed and we must do everything in our power to ensure Indiana is the best place for jobs to locate. A dynamic and growing economy is critical to our state's future. To ensure that becomes a reality, we must remove any additional barriers preventing companies and businesses from expanding or locating in Indiana."

Pat Toomey Weekly Republican Address VIDEO 11/19/11

In the Weekly Republican Address, Sen. Pat Toomey (R-PA), a member of the Joint Select Committee on Deficit Reduction, discusses the importance of "restoring economic growth and bringing our deficits under control."

Pat Toomey Weekly Republican Address VIDEO 11/19/11

Sen. Toomey says, "The best way to revive the American economy is to reform our broken tax code. We should seize this opportunity to throw out this unfair monstrosity and replace it with a system that will lower tax rates for every single American, simplify the code, and get rid of the special interest tax breaks and loopholes that make this code the 70,000 page mess that it is. Our tax code has to go. Every bipartisan commission that has looked at our deficit crisis has come to the same conclusion: Pro-growth tax reform is a vital part of the solution. That's why we Republican members of the Joint Select Committee on Deficit Reduction have proposed a plan that replaces our current tax code with a simpler and fairer version that will encourage small businesses to expand and hire new workers and encourage creative hardworking Americans to open new businesses. Furthermore, this reform should be permanent so that job creators across America will know they will not be subject to the biggest tax hike in American history, which is currently looming a mere 14 months away."

He points out, "Now, in addition to kick-starting our economy with tax reform, our proposal will curb the deficit by cutting spending. After all, the problem is not that Americans are under-taxed, but that our government overspends. And that's why we've proposed cutting spending by $750 billion over 10 years. Now, let me be clear. We've identified several trillion dollars in sensible, responsible spending reductions that would actually resolve our fiscal crisis. But in the face of intense Democratic opposition, we've scaled back our proposal to just $750 billion -- less than 2 percent of what our government is projected to spend over the next 10 years. Surely our Democratic colleagues can agree that a bloated federal government that has grown by about 25 percent in the last few years can tighten its belt by 2 percent over the next 10 years."

Sen. Toomey concludes, "The hour is late. By law, our work on this committee must be completed this coming week. But I remain hopeful that we can meet our goal and I urge my Democratic colleagues to join us in this effort. We have what is truly a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to pass legislation that will generate millions of jobs, create a simpler, fairer tax system with lower rates for everyone, and put our government on a path toward fiscal sanity. We don't have to follow the path that Europe has taken. We can learn from their mistakes. We can continue to be the land of unparalleled opportunity and prosperity. And the 21st century can be another great American century. The American people will make sure of that if we in Washington will just let them."

Jeb Hensarling issued the following statement today after a historic vote on a balanced budget amendment to the U.S. Constitution VIDEO

WASHINGTON- U.S. Congressman Jeb Hensarling (R-Texas), Chairman of the House Republican Conference and Co-Chairman of the Joint Select Committee on Deficit Reduction, issued the following statement today after a historic vote on a balanced budget amendment to the U.S. Constitution.

Congressman Jeb Hensarling

“Our national debt has topped $15 trillion. That is $128,000 for every household in America. The American people know that it’s because Washington spends too much, it’s not because they’re under taxed. If we try to tax our way out of this, we will be the most highly taxed nation in the world. That’s why the crisis has to be solved from the spending side.

“The deficit is the symptom—it is spending that is the disease.

“Many will say amending the Constitution is a very sacred responsibility, only to be undertaken with the greatest care and deliberation. I agree. But, let us recall the Founding Fathers provided an amendment process. No less than a Founding Father than Thomas Jefferson himself said, and I quote, ‘I wish it were possible to obtain a single amendment to our Constitution, I would be willing to depend on that alone for the reduction of the administration of our government, I mean an additional article taking from the federal government the power of borrowing.’

“49 of 50 states have some form of a balanced budget requirement, including Texas. Every family has to balance their budget, every small business. Should we expect anything less from a great nation?

“Unfortunately, Republicans and Democrats can’t seem to agree on spending. They can’t seem to agree on taxes. But can’t we all agree as Americans that it’s at least way passed time to stop mortgaging our children’s future and bankrupting the greatest nation in history? Even though I am disappointed that today’s vote failed, I encourage my colleagues on both sides of the aisle to keep up the fight for a permanent solution to our spending-driven debt crisis. Let’s save our country. Let’s amend the Constitution. Let’s balance the budget.”

Governor Rick Perry Releases New Ad: “Lazy” VIDEO TEXT TRANSCRIPT

AUSTIN – The Perry campaign today released a 30-second television advertisement, “Lazy,” which is airing over national cable and Iowa broadcast and cable.

“As President Obama continues to make excuses for our nation’s economic struggles, apologizing for America and disparaging Americans by calling us lazy, soft and un-ambitious, Gov. Perry is offering solutions to reverse the damage inflicted by this out-of-touch administration,” said Perry campaign communications director Ray Sullivan. “This ad underscores Gov. Perry’s priority to overhaul Washington through common-sense measures including a balanced budget amendment and reducing Congressional salaries.”

“Lazy” Script

Video of President Obama: “We’ve been a little bit lazy I think over the last couple of decades.”

Rick Perry: “Can you believe that? That’s what our President thinks is wrong with America? That Americans are lazy?”

“That’s pathetic. It’s time to clean house in Washington.”

“It’s time for a Balanced Budget Amendment that forces Washington to stop overspending.”

“If Congress balks, cut their pay and send them home.”

“Obama’s socialist policies are bankrupting America. We must stop him now.”

“I’m Rick Perry. I approve this message.”
